Shipping Policy
This Shipping Policy explains Desai Gold Private Limited’s ("Desai Gold" or "we") practices regarding shipment, delivery timelines, charges, customs clearance and related matters for orders placed on www.desaigold.com ("Website"). Please read this policy carefully before placing an order. By placing an order you agree to be bound by the terms set out below.
1. Shipping Destinations
Domestic: We currently deliver to selected cities and PIN Codes across India. Please check availability for your shipping PIN Code on the shopping cart checkout page before placing the order.
International: For shipments outside India, please contact us via our Contact Us page for shipping options, rates and timelines.
2. Shipping Methods & Carriers
We use reputed logistics partners for domestic and international shipments. The actual carrier used for your order will be shown in the order confirmation or shipping communication. Logistics partner names may vary and will be communicated at the time of dispatch.
3. Shipping & Handling Charges
Domestic Orders: Shipping charges (if any) are calculated at checkout and must be paid by the customer at the time of placing the order.
International Orders: For orders shipped outside India, the customer shall bear shipping and handling charges and any import duty, taxes or customs fees applicable at the destination. These charges may be collected at the time of order or on delivery by the local carrier or customs authority.
4. Delivery Timelines
A tentative delivery date/time will be provided in your order confirmation. Exact delivery dates will be updated once your order is ready for dispatch.
Express Delivery: Available for select PIN Codes in select cities (e.g., Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru) for select products. Express next-day delivery is subject to the order being placed by 2 PM IST on a business day. Orders placed after 2 PM will typically have delivery timelines of T+2 days for express eligible PIN Codes. If the delivery date falls on a public holiday or Sunday, delivery may be extended by an additional day.
Standard Delivery: For other PIN Codes, expected domestic delivery timelines are usually 5–7 business days unless otherwise stated at checkout.
5. Delivery Requirements & Identification
For security reasons, customers may be required to produce valid government-issued photo identification at the time of delivery. Acceptable ID proofs include:
- PAN Card
- Driving License
- Passport
- Voter Identification Card
6. Customs, Import & Clearance (International Orders)
All international shipments are subject to customs clearance by the destination country. The customer is responsible for payment of any import duties, taxes or customs charges levied by the destination country. Shipments are generally sent on a Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis unless otherwise indicated. In some cases customs inspection may require the package to be opened and resealed with a label stating "Opened for Customs".
7. Failed Deliveries & Returns to Origin
If an order cannot be delivered due to incorrect address, non-availability at the delivery address or refusal of the shipment by the recipient, the order may be returned to origin. In such cases, the customer may be liable for additional freight, customs or return charges. Desai Gold reserves the right to deduct return freight and handling charges from any refund due to the customer.
8. Risk of Loss & Title
Risk of loss and title for products transfers to the customer upon delivery to the carrier at our dispatch facility. Once the shipment is handed over to the carrier, Desai Gold is not responsible for delays, loss or damage caused by the carrier, customs or other third parties.
9. Packaging & Inspection
Products are packaged securely for transit. Please inspect your order at the time of delivery and sign the delivery receipt only after ensuring the package and contents are in satisfactory condition. If the package is visibly tampered with, please note it on the delivery receipt and contact our customer care immediately.
10. Tracking Your Order
Once your order is dispatched, you will receive shipping confirmation and tracking details via email or SMS (if such details are available from the carrier). Registered customers may also track orders through the "Track Order" feature on the Website.
11. Multiple Destinations
At present, we do not support delivery of a single order to multiple shipping addresses. To ship to multiple addresses, please place separate orders for each destination.
12. Special Handling & Made-to-Order Items
Custom or made-to-order jewellery may have different lead times. Final dispatch for such items will depend on manufacturing and quality checks. Any differences in weight or other specifications arising from manufacturing will follow the terms detailed during order confirmation.
13. Shipping Partners
Our logistics partners are selected based on serviceability and reliability for a given PIN Code or route. Where applicable, our domestic logistic partner is [Courier Name] and our international logistic partner is [Courier Name]. 14. Insurance
Shipments may be insured by us or the carrier depending on the shipment type and value. If insurance is not included, customers may choose to insure high-value shipments at their own cost where such an option is provided.
